That a traffic accident could have taken Dick Kesner is still difficult to fully accept. It is hard to believe that there will be no new outpourings of brilliantly moving melody from this popular artist.

What set him off from other talented violinists? Millions who saw or heard Dick Kesner perform on the Lawrence Welk Show - or in his own numerous best-selling albums-were naturally impressed with his superb technical virtuosity. But, more than that, they found themselves applauding a quality that transcended even his musicianship.

This quality is a warmth-an ability to invest each song with a very special glow. As a result, people didn't just listen to Dick Kesner; they responded.
Matching that inner musical glow was the fabulous tone of the Kesner violin.
Appropriately, it was a genuine Stradivarius-and from it came magic...satiny, soaring golden notes. The measure of that magic is wonderfully captured in this album of excitingly varied selections...best-loved, most-requested standards that truly constitute DICK KESNER'S GOLDEN FAVORITES.

Your own particular favorites are surely included in a list that embraces; the wild,
infectious tempo of GYPST...two contracting classical selections-HUNGARIAN DANCE #5 and Dvorak's beloved SONGS MY MOTHER TAUGHT ME...the sweet strains of INTERMEZZO and THE OLD REFRAIN...a bit of Latin lilt in AMOR...the nostalgic mood of AUTUMN LEAVES or SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES. These, and others, have an enduring quality that makes each rehearing a delightful new experience.

If the richest legacy anyone can leave behind is the pleasure they have granted others, then Dick Kesner has been generous indeed. And an album such as DICK KESNER's GOLDEN FAVORITES is its own glowing memorial.
