The underlying theme of Lawrence welk's spectacularly popular TV shows is a combination of great tunes, outstanding talent and colorful variety.

Rated the Number One Dance Band by the Ballrom Operators of America, named one of the
top Musical TV programs, and credited with doing more to re-popularize ballroom dancing than any other band in teh industry, maestro Welk has his own fine showmanship and talents such as Larry Hooper to thank for his phenomenal success.

In this album, Larry Hooper sings the songs which we feel are his best. You will hear, among others, his first big hit, Oh Happy Day; the exhilarating With A Little Bit Of Luck; Mutual Admiration Society; and the amusing Minnie The Mermaid. His records, which are extremely popular in this country, enjoy an unusual degree of popularity in Europe as well, particularly in Germany.

Mr. Hooper, who hails from Lebanon, Missouri, was originally a pianist with the Welk
organization. Asked to sing a song one day with the Champagne music-makers, he was an
immediate hit with the audience. At Welk's insistence, Larry Hooper is now one of the
famous band's regular vocalists.
