For those charming Lennon Sisters, who grace the Lawrence Welk TV Show so delightfully, this album represents something special. To begin with, all the selections are those which the girls find most requested by their audiences in personal appearances. To substantiate the title, which also claims these songs as their own favorites, one has only to listen to the sincerity and enthusiasm which Peggy, Kathy and Janet bring to their performance. Seldom have they been heard to such good advantage, and nowhere has their uncanny ability to phrase as one person been more abundantly demonstrated. This special awareness of each other is evident in all the varied types of songs offered here - from the rhythmic variations (their own) of "BEI MIR BIST DU SCHOEN" and "KISSES SWEETER THAN WINE," to the tender beauty of "MY ROSARY" and "GREENSLEEVES." A special treat for lovers of barbershop is contained in "KENTUCKY BABE," and a very moving "AVE MARIA," sung at first a cappela in Latin, with a narration by Janet, closes a well-rounded program. Ably arranged and conducted by Jimmie Haskell, the orchestra complements the girls to perfection, never intruding or distracting from their sweet young harmonies.
